Uh Oh… This Page is Not Done Yet

This project stemmed from my interest in design and kickstarted with the help and advice from one of my more experienced friends. In the beginning, this project was meant to utilize low-cost materials and electronics to produce a simple flying aircraft with a 2ft wingspan. The airplane was designed with low budget, beginners, and learning as a mindset which meant that it needed to be stable and straightforward. This project also allowed me to know more regarding the use of rapid prototyping tools, primarily 3D printing. This page will describe the design and manufacturing process of the first version of the RC plane.

For the purpose of learning to fly, the first aircraft was determined to have a high wing set up. This design was advised to me by my colleague as I was learning more about the hobby. The high wing design allowed the aircraft to be stable and easy to control during flight. Secondly, I have always been fond of the amphibious flying-boat design from the thirties through the fourties and this project allowed me to express some of my creativity.
